Novant Oak Island

The Issue

Novant Health recently invested heavily in one of the fastest-growing areas of NC and was looking for a simple, inexpensive way to establish its brand and patient base poised for future growth. The initial requirement was 10,000 square feet, with the expectation that more space would be needed.

The Solution

Through a collaborative process, Davis Moore partnered with a local landowner to allow the system to be the first building in a 2,000-acre master-planned community with visibility at the entrance located on the area’s major thoroughfare. This building was designed to be expandable without major disruption to the existing user, and exclusive rights for expansion were included in adjacent areas to the building, thus providing protection from other providers.

The Benefit

Novant has prominent signage at the front of the development as well as a favorable path for growth. Furthermore, the initial schedule to complete the building was reduced by 20 percent, at a cost lower than other competitive options.
